Rota Nanny

Supporting your 24/7 care needs

What is a Rota Nanny?

A Rota Nanny is a nanny who works on a rota system. They usually work with another nanny taking on each other’s shifts. They tend to work 24/7, then have time off. For example, they might work on a one week on/ one week off basis. This means that while one nanny is off, the other nanny on the rota is taking care of the role. While the most common is, one week on/one week off, there are also other variants of this, including three weeks or one month on, then the same time off.

What is the Benefit of a Rota Nanny?

There are a host of benefits to having a Rota Nanny. The main benefit is that the children have the same nanny for 24 hours a day, seven days a week for a set period of time.

This means the children have continuous care and this can be very useful if parents work very long hours. Rota Nannies tend to work longer hours than usual nannies and are more likely to be hired by high profile families who need continuous care for their children. Because of the nature of this, the responsibilities might be different, for example assisting with a busy international travel schedule and accompanying the family abroad to look after the children.
