Proxy Parent

To be there when you are not able to be

A Proxy Parent is a nanny who will look after the children while the parents are away. Unlike a Live-in Nanny who lives within the household, a Proxy Parent will have sole charge of your children. This can be for any length of time, from 24 hours a day, to weeks or even months while the parents are away. They have responsibility for all aspects within the home and will ensure everything is kept running smoothly in your absence. Here at Annie’s Nannies® we know that if you need to leave your children at home due to business, illness or family matters it can be a difficult time. All of our candidates are experienced and trained to enable you to have peace of mind while you are absent.

What are the Benefits of having a Proxy Parent?

The benefits of having a Proxy Parent are that you know your children can continue with their preferred routine while you are absent. Without a Proxy Parent, you might need to take your children with you which could mean taking them out of school or away from their usual routine. Proxy Parents take away the worry and offer peace of mind. If you already have a nanny who can take over as your Proxy Parent, you already know them and will probably feel comfortable leaving your children with them while you are away.

What are the Duties of a Proxy Parent?

A Proxy Parent’s duties can be varied and include all elements of looking after your children and keeping the house running. This usually means getting the children up and dressed, taking them to school or nursery, helping them with homework, cooking their meals and taking them on playdates or to extracurricular activities.
