Full or Part-time Nanny

Full and Part-time Nannies

We know that sometimes you need flexibility and that is why we have a range of nannies looking for both full-time and part-time positions. A Part-time Nanny is ideal if you are at home or the children will be away (for example living with another parent) for part of the week. Full-time hours tend to be 4 or 5 days a week. A Live-out Nanny will cover 50 hours per week, and a Live-in Nanny can cover 60 hours per week. A Part-time Nanny tends to work 1,2 or 3 days a week. It is up to you to liaise with your nanny and discuss your requirements.

What is a Full-time and Part-time Nanny?

A Part-time Nanny works fewer hours than a Full-time Nanny, often 1, 2 or 3 days a week, or 5 days a week but limited hours. There are many reasons that you might want a Part-time Nanny. It could be that your children are all at school and you need someone to pick them up in the afternoon and look after them until you return. This would involve picking up from school, getting an afternoon snack, assisting with homework, taking to after school activities and giving them dinner. Depending on the time you get home, it might mean bathing and putting your children to bed.

A Full-time Nanny is similar to a Live-out Nanny but works on a full-time basis, often Monday to Friday.

The Duties of a Live-in Nanny

The duties can differ slightly depending on whether the Nanny is Part-time, Full-time or Live-in, but can include things such as taking your children to and from school or nursery, feeding them, and helping with homework. Duties can also include washing, ironing and mending the children’s clothes, washing their bedding when necessary, organising stimulating activities, such as outings and playdates and taking the children to appointments such as the doctors or dentist. The nanny will act as a caregiver and be there for emotional, social and intellectual needs.
